CLASSES



Classes are held primarily on Saturday. The first three Saturdays are repeated every month. Classes start at 10AM.

All Classes have a class fee that varies with the class.
Supplies are generally not included and will be available at the time of the class.

Class sizes are limited, so call 210 490-7775 or stop by the store to sign up.



Saturday Classes


First Saturday - Introduction to Jewelry Making. Focus is on learning about tools, materials, and techniques for bead stringing. Class is conducted by Bead Boys instructors.


Second Saturday - Earrings. Focus is on learning earring design. Class is conducted by Bead Boys instructors. Class size is limited, so call to confirm a space or sign up in the store.


Third Saturday - Wire Wrapped Cabochons. Cabochons are flat-backed domed stones. Focus is on using wire to create a striking pendant. Class is conducted by a guest instructor.


Other Classes are available and vary from month to month



January 2026:


January 10th 10AM - Pearl Knotting $25 Plus Supplies

Learn to professionally knot and finish pearl necklaces. The technique can also be applied to Malas and even Rosaries.

Beginner Seed Beads and Open Beading - Tuesday at 11:00


Advanced Seed Beads - Wednesday at Noon

This is a project classes led by one of the group. Please contact us if you are interested in attending.

Introduction to Metalsmithing - $125.00



The class covers tools and techniques for simple projects.


Includes information on:


Features of the jewelers bench

Jewelers saws and selecting the correct saw blades

Metal shears

Hammers for metal forming and texturing

Types and uses of bench blocks

Types of jewelers files

Pliers and wire cutters

Vises

Flex shafts for metal forming and polishing

Work hardening

Annealing


Soldering

Types of solder and proper applications

Torches

Soldering surfaces

Flux

Pickle


During the class study, you will practice with the saws, texturing metal, and soldering exercises


The next phase is creating a sterling silver hammered texture ring. This is where you put into practice what you learned.


This class is an introduction to metalsmithing. It is geared toward projects you can do with a small handheld butane torch. These torches do not produce the heat required for larger scale projects. This course does not cover bezel settings.


Class times are generally available on Friday at 10 AM

Class length is usually 4 hours

Classes are designed for one person. Maximum of two if friends or family.


The class price may vary based on the price of silver
